Typography Buildings

Here are a couple of my first initial ideas for my metropolis project. I am looking into how text can be manipulated to create shapes and building like structures. This is just the very start of my project but i am pleased with these results so far. I used words that were connected to metropolis in my opinion to create a simple skyline, i am really please with the outcome.

This is my first Animation i have created. It was a simple photography animation. I created all the pieces and then moved them from frame to frame. It is very simple but i really enjoyed learning how to create a small animation. The brief was on any object that could fly. As you can see my animation is based on a sycamore seed learning to fly. I was really pleased with my final outcome.

Alberto Seveso

Seveso has a really interesting, unique style and use of type. I love the use of type to creat a figure and i fell that the linear and structure of text would be perfect to form the shape of buildings.

Craig Ward

This is a selection of work by Craig ward, I have been looking at his work recently in reference to unit 35 words and image in graphic design which i have chosen for my metropolis brief. I love these pieces and i am going to experiment with the use of ink in typography.

Metropolis Graphic Banner

This is a mixed media image i created from looking at our cardboard city instillation. I created this piece by working into black card with white and Orange paint, charcoal, ink and other medias. I really like my final piece and feel it works well as a banner.

Skyline Painting

I love this video it is a really different aspect and view on looking at a skyline. I love the spray paint I think the end result is beautiful.

Robert Rauschenberg.....Metropolis Inspiration

I love Rauschenberg's work, I have been inspired by many of his pieces in the past and still today. I love working with a mixture of media's, from paint to drawing to photography and layering and experimenting with them. I have chosen mixed media as one of my chosen units for my metropolis project. Rauschenberg is a big inspiration to me and is most defiantly reflected in pieces so far such as my reflection on our cardboard city.

A place called home...

These are a selection of photographs I took last summer in Norfolk. I really like the different range of aspects and angles that can be taken from one location, making each photograph very unique form the next.

Metropolis Industrial/Nature Photographs

I took these Photographs last summer, I love the combination of the pure industrial wire and concrete mixed in the natural and organic environment of the dunes. I believe this gives a real sense of utopia and dystopia.

Metropolis Building Photographs

These photographs are originally from other projects, however they make a good base start to the metropolis brief looking into different varieties of buildings.
